Lightfoot Partners With Driving For Better Business
We’re delighted to announce our partnership with National Highways’ Driving for Better Business (DfBB) scheme. This collaboration reinforces Lightfoot’s ongoing commitment to making the UK’s roads safer for all users and keeping driver safety at the forefront of our work.
DfBB is a government-backed programme offering free online tools and resources and delivered in partnership with the leading forum RoadSafe. It was established with the aim of improving road safety by promoting better management practices and raising awareness of work-related road risk, employers’ duty of care, and employees’ responsibilities.
More than 2 million drivers are already signed up to Driving for Better Business, as well as over 1 million company cars, more than 1 million light commercial vehicles, and over 200,000 HGVs.
DfBB’s vision is to create a world where “those who use the roads for work do so safely, efficiently, and sustainably”, making them an ideal partner for Lightfoot.
Our advanced technology has been developed to help make fleet safety simple and straightforward for businesses. We empower drivers to be better by making them responsible for their own performance behind the wheel and celebrating safer, smoother driving with ongoing rewards and recognition.
Our in-cab devices deliver real-time feedback that alerts drivers to any dangerous driving habits, such as speeding, harsh braking, sharp cornering, and rapid acceleration. By making drivers aware of these behaviours as they happen, our solution is proven to lower the rate of at-fault accidents, minimise vehicle wear and tear, cut running costs, limit fleet emissions, and significantly reduce risk. This helps businesses adopt a safety-first culture that positively impacts every area of their fleet.
Paul Hollick, Lightfoot’s Managing Director, had this to say about the new partnership: “Through this affiliation, our customers will have access to a range of free resources, guides, and tools. These will deliver significant benefits both for the companies and their drivers: an important milestone on the journey towards safer roads for all.”
Mark Cartwright, Head of Commercial Vehicle Incident Prevention at National Highways, added: “Our missions are very much aligned: to improve occupational road safety by managing driver risk. Lightfoot occupies a unique position in motor risk management by coaching and engaging drivers to maintain better driving standards over time. We look forward to developing a strong partnership.”
