The Challenge
With such a large and diverse fleet, Voyage Care wanted to:

- Lower accident rates, repair costs, and vehicle downtime
- Reduce fuel consumption and environmental impact
- Improve performance without adding unnecessary management overhead
Traditional telematics could report problems after they occurred but didn’t give drivers the tools to improve in the moment. Voyage Care needed a proactive solution that could drive real behavioural change.
The Solution
Lightfoot was rolled out across Voyage Care’s entire fleet, giving drivers live in-cab feedback and a rewards system designed to encourage safer, smoother driving.

Real-time in-cab coaching
Lightfoot alerts drivers instantly when they approach the limits of efficient or safe driving, enabling them to make immediate adjustments.
Gamification and rewards
Drivers achieving Elite Driver status are entered into weekly prize draws for cash and tech. Depot leaderboards and app-based rewards encouraged friendly competition.
Performance ownership
Lightfoot put drivers in control of their own scores, reducing the need for top-down interventions while still maintaining oversight for fleet managers.
Detailed fleet insights
Managers gained access to data on driver performance, MPG, and dangerous driving incidents, enabling targeted support where needed.

Harsh acceleration, braking, and cornering events fell dramatically, improving road safety for drivers, passengers, and the public.
