We told you last time that there’d be news of more newbies coming soon and – true to our word – today’s the day we share another batch of our new starters with the world!
We’ve got everything from Thai boxing and baseball to classrooms and curries.
Grab yourself a cuppa and get ready to meet the newest additions to the Lightfoot family.
John Hughes – Account Manager
Having joined us after spending several years with some of the UK’s leading renewable energy providers, John brings both pedigree and valuable knowledge to the team at Innovation Valley. John believes Lightfoot is “the most exciting, disruptive innovator in the UK at the moment” and, having admired us from afar over the last few years, said “I was already at my desk before I was offered the job”! John lives in “a quiet Devon village” with his wife, Michelle, daughter, Aoife, and springer spaniel Bonzo. We’re all excited for Bonzo’s first visit to Innovation Valley.

Janet Byers – Head of Quality
Janet has joined the Lightfoot family from the UK’s second largest Disclosure and Barring Service, where she was Governance Manager. Janet’s role is a broad one, with her remit being quality, consistency, and compliance in all areas of the business. Janet was drawn to Lightfoot because it “is a fast-growing, innovative company” and “a really exciting opportunity.” Janet divides her time between Devon and Cornwall and adores spending time with her two Bengal kittens – “they are incredibly active, wild, and highly intelligent – they keep me on my toes!”
- Trekking choice: Beach and country trails
- Place in the Lightfoot classroom: TESL qualified
- Favourite food: Indian (“I cook a mean chicken curry, of course – my parents were Indian!”)

Fiona Kennardsmith – Trial and Implementation Executive
Fiona (aka Fee) has joined Lightfoot after spending time in recruitment and owning her own business “because of the concept of the product – it’s exciting to be part of a company that can improve and positively impact the environment.” Fee also believes Lightfoot is full of “a cool bunch of people who are amazing to work with” and now we’re blushing… Fee lives at home with her son, 17, who she (very diplomatically) says “challenges” her every day.
- Strength: Can almost certainly squat more than you
- Batting ability: Immortalised in the SW Baseball League history books
- Favourite food: Crisps and chocolate (equally)
- Dream car: Audi R8
The best news is, there’s even more to come in the next few weeks. The Lightfoot train keeps on rolling and its next stop will take in the sights of three entirely new roles within the business. Exciting times!
