Yes – if your car was made after 2004. This is when OBDII ports became mandatory in both diesels and petrol vehicles sold within the European Union. Cars made before this year may have an OBDII port, but it is not guaranteed.

Nope. Lightfoot is effectively a helpful friend in-cab, but you are and will always remain in control of the vehicle. If you need to drive inefficiently (e.g. to join fast-moving traffic), Lightfoot can’t and won’t stop you. Think of it like a Sat Nav – you might follow the route it suggests but if it tries to take you down a closed road, it’s still your responsibility not to go driving through the cones!
