Lightfoot fights back against thieves and under-utilisation with Locate asset tracking

Fleet technology specialist Lightfoot has launched a new asset tracking solution, Lightfoot Locate, which utilises tracking technology to boost the security and mobilisation of assets such as vehicles and plant equipment.

Lightfoot customers have the option to choose from a variety of Locate tracking devices which can be installed in any company asset, including vehicles, generators, items of plant, farming equipment, containers, portable tools and mobile crew buildings. Several of the trackers can then be used to give 24/7 instant GPS location information to a fleet dashboard so a company can ensure its assets are in the place they should be.

There are also Thatcham-approved tracking devices available, all of which are IP67 rated, meaning they are water and dust resistant, and come with a battery that will last at least five years. These Locate trackers can send out a signal even if the vehicle is locked away underground or in a metal container.

Lightfoot CEO Paul Hollick said: “Lightfoot Locate is yet another example of our approach to helping fleets save time and money. Locate trackers offer detailed availability, location, and usage information via an easy to use dashboard reporting system. The devices also offer reporting functionality so companies can ascertain which assets are being over or under-used.

“And with the ability to offer faster asset recovery if a vehicle is stolen through our dedicated anti-theft solutions, this gives companies the opportunity to not only monitor and manage their fleets, but also safeguard them against crime.”
